FAQs

How much does it cost to hire the venue?

As we are a charity we price all events individually to break even. We offer basic room hire from as little as £25ph.

Get in touch to discuss your requirements.

How are the acoustics for the rooms & what AV do you offer?

Our acoustics are pretty good – we were built for lectures, presentations and events, and we have AV kit available for hire.

The Main Hall has an in-built sound system and we’ve a portable one for all other rooms, with handheld / mic stand microphones available.

We’ve a data projector and screen, a portable music player and flipcharts, pads & pens. Our Main Hall stage has stage lights above. This covers most event requirements, but if you’re hiring a band, we’d suggest they bring their own kit (they normally do!).

Do I have to arrange my own catering?

We don’t offer catering in house but we have a wonderful range of Recommended Suppliers to help you, but you’re not obliged to use any of them. The only exception is our licensed in-house bar, which must be used for all events which serve alcohol.

What else do you provide?

  • Use of hire room for as long as you need.

  • Data projector & screen

  • Microphone & sound system

  • Flipchart & pens

  • Table water

  • Venue WiFi

  • Refreshments

Do I need Public Liability insurance or a PRS License?

You’ll need your own Public Liability insurance. Though we have insurance to cover use of the venue itself, our insurance does not cover your event or activities held here.

A music licence (PRS and/or PPL) is required for all public events (i.e. events which are not by invite only) where music is played live or pre-recorded. We can apply for the PRS licence for you, please ask for details or let us know if you will arrange your own licence.

If you need a PPL licence 3 you will need to arrange this with PPL directly, due to their regulations. You can find more details about PRS here and about PPL here.

Do you have parking and accommodation?

Alas, when he built Saltaire, Sir Titus Salt didn’t bless us with our own car park, but there are Parking Options nearby.

We have excellent transport links, with Saltaire train station (direct trains to Leeds and Bradford) and bus routes on our doorstep.

We don’t have accommodation on site, but we can recommend some great local hotels for every budget.

Can you help promote my event?

Absolutely, we list all public events on our website, have active social media accounts, and in-venue promotion available.

When you book us, we’ll email you our Public Event Questionnaire form to make sure we have all the details.

We can also sell tickets for your event before it takes place – just ask us for more information.

What time do you open & close?

We can be super flexible with opening times, just let us know what you need.

The venue closes at midnight, with all music off for 23:45.
